Do you have your wifi protected with a password?

Use WPA2 AES and see if that helps the situation.

From what you have explained it looks like either some one is able to access your router or one of your machines have a virus that is causing this.

There are many types of password security in a router, this is why I asked you to try using WPA2 AES. Open the router settings page and go into wifi security tab and change it accordingly. It is also advisable to change the password often.

There is a small button that can be pressed with a sharp object like a pen or something similar to reset the router to factory settings. Please note down the settings whatever you have before you reset it because you would lose all the settings. After factory reset you can configure it again.

For Dlink routers and modems it is not a big deal. Please follow the steps below :

First get the firmware from Dlink. (Get it from Dlink website from your product page and if it is not available there give customer care a quick call.

Once you have the firmware file on your computer do the following :

Plug in the LAN (Ethernet) cable to your computer with the router.

Set up your computer with a static ip different from your routers default IP. You can set it up to something like 192.168.0.3

    Now unplug the router power.

Press the reset button on your router for 4-5seconds and while the button is still pressed you need to plug in the power cable for your router.

Once power is on you can release the reset button.

Now open the router settings page in a browser using IP : 192.168.0.1

You will see Emergency flashing page on the screen.

Upload the firmware file and you will see the confirmation of success on your screen. In case you dont see the confirmation for some reason please repeat the process as described above and there is no reason for this to not work.

That concludes the flashing of your router and now you can set up the settings as provided by your ISP.

PS: This is the normal procedure with most Dlink routers but there are some models that have a different method so it would be worth giving customer care a call to confirm that this method would work for your model and if not ask them the procedure that applies to the model you have got.

I hope this works for you.

I find it very hard to believe that the factory reset button does not get rid of the infection.
